On The Quality Of Bte Hearing
There are actually many different types of hearing instruments or aids which are worn in various styles that include: Behind The Ear (BTE), Receiver In The Canal/Ear (RIC/RITE), In The Canal (ITC) and Completely In The Canal (CIC). Each type and style is designed to meet different identifiable needs of people suffering from hearing loss. The BTE hearing aid model is often used for compensating mild to severe hearing losses.

The other types of hearing aids also have their areas of competence or suitability, which ranges from compensating for mild or moderate to not so severe and severe hearing losses. A dual mini series from Oticon INC., for instance is made as a Receiver In The Ear (RITE) hearing aid and this instrument is designed to meet the needs of people suffering from serious hearing loss and high frequency hearing loss.

This is why Oticon informs anyone who cares to listen that this hearing aid will deliver a better, less confusing sound than any BTE hearing aid as it avoids problem due to tube resonance. Okay does this then mean that receiver in the ear hearing aids are better than behind the ear models or even any other hearing aid for that matter? No is the answer as each hearing aid type has a benefit, advantage or function that the other hearing aids might not possess, so the right choice of a hearing aid depends on what situation or circumstance is in question. To go further on this, it will be better for you to understand what benefits a particular type or style of hearing aid offers over the others, due to its design and the technology that drives it. There are three important benefits that you can get from a BTE hearing aid that a RITE dual mini will not give you. First, its ear molds can be easily replaced when it no longer fits the user as a result of the person outgrowing it (this why it is often used by children). Secondly, they are not subjected to spoilage from wax in the ears like RITE models since electrical parts are not in the ear.

The third advantage is that they are cost-effective because they are usually cheaper to buy, replace or adjust. One major disadvantage of this type of hearing instrument is that it is not discreet like the oticon dual mini or other RITE aids.

An advantage that RITE technology has for users is the non-distortion of sound that you will find in BTE hearing aids. This comes as a result of the receiver or speaker's position, which is found right inside the ear so sound from outside need not travel through a tube as it is with BTE models.
